Managing Principal

Thomas J. Hillman

Mr. Hillman has been involved with private business enterprises over the course of his career, during which time he’s owned more than 60 companies in a wide variety of industries.   Mr. Hillman is Managing Partner of the Lewis & Clark family of companies, which represent an assortment of investment platforms.   Lewis & Clark Holdings includes both Lewis & Clark Capital – a preeminent Midwest boutique private equity firm with a selective approach to investing, and Lewis & Clark Real Estate – which partners with developers to create great communities, provides equity capital to high performing innovators in real estate, and maximizes risk-adjusted returns via investments in distinct real estate assets and operating businesses.   Spurred from many successes in Mr. Hillman’s private and individual investment sectors, Lewis & Clark Partners was formed as an institutional investment platform. Represented are multiple active funds focused in growth capital through Lewis & Clark AgriFood and in venture capital / high potential Series A & B round investment opportunities in the Midwest region via Lewis & Clark Ventures.   Tom currently serves on the Barnes Jewish Hospital Board of Directors/Executive Committee, leading the Finance and Planning Committee, and serves on the the BJC board of Directors. He is on the Board of Trustees and assorted National Councils at Washington University in St. Louis and is a long-standing member of YPO.   He and his wife, Jennifer, have also enthusiastically engaged in numerous philanthropic efforts. Representative involvement includes their staunch support of WE Schools and creation of Hillman Scholars – a college scholarship program that works in conjunction with College Bound (mostly first generation) graduates in fulfilling their dreams of higher education.   Mr. Hillman has previously served as Director of Answers (internet lead generation and search engine company) and founding shareholder and Board member of Hoover’s, Inc. (public business content and research company). He was Board President of the Center of Creative Arts (St. Louis-based community performing arts center) and Chairman of the Young Presidents’ Organization – St. Louis chapter.   Mr. Hillman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Director of Real Estate

Jason King

Mr. King directs efforts in sourcing real estate and solar opportunities, supervising the existing asset portfolio, managing the investment entities, and coordinating with lenders. Mr. King has over 20 years of experience in real estate financing, planning, and development. Mr. King previously served as Vice President at The Laubacher Company, managing and consulting on the financing, construction, and operation of real estate, with a focus on senior and affordable housing. Prior to this role, Mr. King was with Newcastle Limited, locating and underwriting multifamily and retail acquisition opportunities on behalf of an institutional investor. This followed real estate advisory roles with the Chicago Department of Planning and Development and Carlisle/Wortman Associates.

Investor Relations Manager

Jessie Chapel

Ms. Chapel handles all communication with investors, coordinates and collects subscription paperwork, provides accurate and detailed financial reports, manages capital call and distribution-related activities, and most recently helped raise over $400M for Lewis & Clark AgriFood and Lewis & Clark Ventures. She currently administers private equity, venture capital, and growth equity funds within Lewis & Clark Real Estate, Ventures, and AgriFood. Ms. Chapel has extensive experience in due diligence and providing superior client relation support, with $278M in asset and portfolio management and $250M in tax credit sales transactions to date. During her career, she served in supervisory positions at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, gaining experience in processing, underwriting, and closing loan-based transactions exceeding $750M.

Chief Financial Officer

Meg Lane

Ms. Lane oversees the accounting, compliance, finance and administrative functions for Lewis & Clark Real Estate, Holdings, Ventures, Partners, and IronRock Investments. Ms. Lane has extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, implementation of evaluation of internal controls, corporate finance, investment management and external auditing. Over the course of her career, she’s had direct involvement in 20+ M&A transactions. Prior to joining Lewis & Clark, Ms. Lane worked for Allegro Senior Living where she was actively involved with the company’s development and operations of its assisted living and skilled nursing properties. In her professional career, she has worked with a diverse group of companies in a variety of industries such as real estate, financial services, health care, manufacturing, and technology.

Operations Manager

Marisa Nardoni

Marisa Nardoni has more than 15 years of proven experience in both the operations management and client advisory realms of the professional services industry. She has extensive operational experience, varied consulting knowledge and broad customer service skills which enable her to capably serve both internal and external stakeholders.

Before joining Lewis & Clark, Marisa served as Operations Manager for MarketSphere Consulting, LLC. She was also a Senior Consultant for Deloitte & Touche, LLP, as well as the Office Manager for Drill String Services, Inc.
